Helping energy to flow freely & promote good health

YOGA

The word "yoga" comes from the Sanskrit root yuj, which means"to join" or "to yoke". Yoga is a practical aid,not a religion.  Yoga is an ancient art based on a harmonizing system of development for the body, mind, and spirit. Thec ontinued practice of yoga will lead you to a sense of peace and well-being,

and also a feeling of being at one with all that is.

The practice of yoga makes the body strong and flexible, it also improves the functioning of the respiratory, circulatory, digestive, and hormonal systems. Yoga brings about emotional stability and clarity of mind. The practice of Yoga aids physical & mental flexibility, self-development, self-realization, enhanced energy & vitality andconnection to the energy around and within us.

Kundalini

The emphasis in Kundalini is on the breath guiding the physical movement, with the purpose of freeing energy in the lower body and allowing it to move upwards through all the chakras. All asana practices make use of controlling the breath, but in Kundalini the exploration of the effects of the breath/prana/energy on the postures is essential. Kundalini exercises are also called kriyas.

Hatha

Hatha is a Sanskrit word that can be broken down into two smaller words: ha, meaning “sun,” and tha, meaning “moon.” The word may also mean “willful” or "forceful.”

In yoga, Hatha yoga is one of many types of yoga practice. The   practice of Hatha yoga focuses on total mastery of the physical body, including all bodily functions. It also emphasizes activating the chakras. in order to stimulate kundalini and promote spiritual and  physical wellness, including disease elimination.

Yin & Restorative

Aiming to stretch the body's connective tissue, particularly around the joints. Holding poses while breathing and relaxing into their full healing benefit. Often props such as blocks, blankets and bolsters are used to support the body as it relaxes into poses for long enough to encourage passive stretching. Deeply relaxing & Meditative

Being present, kind and mindful of your body & breath, practicing lovingly for yourself, letting go of judgement

on yourself or anyone else in the class.
